We have two exciting skating events this October Half Term which will help teenagers, children and families get active in their local area using the wheels of their choice!
Thurrock Mini HAF Skatejam event
Book your child and come and join us for our Skatejam event! There will be a wide range of skatepark obstacles to try and two professional skateboard coaches on hand to help. All skateboards relevant safety equipment (pads and helmets) will be provided on the day; however, you’re more than welcome to bring your own skateboards if you wish!
For those who have never tried skateboarding, a beginner workshop will be available with King Ramps who will get everyone involved and on a skateboard! For others who can skate already, you can use the course independently and if you require assistance, need help learning a new trick or a different skill, coaches will be on hand to help!
As well as this event on Monday 24th, ProSports will be running a holiday camp on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th October, so please come along on those days too for some Halloween fun!

Thurrock Community Skatejam Event
This event will bring local communities together to take part in a range of fun and inclusive activities using cycling, BMXing, scooters, and skating. There will be music, MCing, and a range of other fun activities for children, young people and families to enjoy. Also, we will be showing many ways that local green spaces can be enjoyed!
King Ramps will bring along skateboards and equipment, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own! Of course, do bring your own wheels if you have some! There will be three, UK professional athletes who will perform demonstrations throughout the day, whilst being supported by a professional MC. They will also run workshops and a jam/contest for each discipline (skate, BMX and scooter) with prizes for the participants!
There will be some outdoor football sessions led by Red Balloon Foundations as well as free food and drink provided for participants to enjoy.
Inside the Community Hub, you will find the ForwardMotion Cycle Hub Thurrock who will be providing a free bike marking service to support against bike theft, and basic safety checks and repairs of bikes. They will also run a bike maintenance workshop, so please bring your wheels if you have them.
Inside the Community Hub, you can help yourself to hot drinks whilst you visit our stands. Local organisations will be sharing information, freebees about local opportunities and ways they can support Thurrock residents with fun activities to get involved in across the district.
No need to book, please just come along and join us on the day!
