A life is lost through suicide every two hours in the UK but suicidal thoughts and feelings affect thousands of us every single day. In 2019, 111 people lost their lives to suicide across greater Essex; 83% were male. The #talksuicideessex campaign has been created by the Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership to reduce the stigma around talking about suicide and raise awareness of suicide prevention training available FREE to ALL from the Zero Suicide Alliance. We want companies, employees, employers, and individuals to take our FREE 20 minute training teaching how to spots the signs of someone that may be suicidal, how to say the words to them and how to signpost to support. The last two years have affected every one and times are still challenging, make sure as an employer you are ensuring the best positive mental health for your employees possible by getting your teams trained on how to talk and look out for each other.
Take the training now at www.letstalkaboutsuicideessex.co.uk or email suicideprevention@tbmind.org.uk for more information and for your company logo to go onto our roll of honour.
