Essex Pedal Power is one of the most ambitious programmes for the LDP aiming to provide thousands of bikes to people who want to make cycling part of their lives but cannot afford a quality new bike. Essex Pedal Power began in Clacton and Jaywick in January 2021, and is on target to have given out 1200 bikes by the summer creating a cycling revolution in that part of Tendring. The biggest challenge of the LDP is to scale up, and Essex Pedal Power now has exciting plans to scale up to Colchester, Basildon, and Harwich.
