Active Essex are pleased to host the free, online Essex Health Series. The aim of these seminars is to provide anyone who delivers sport or physical activity with the latest information on ways to support people recovering from Covid-19, how this has impacted on those most vulnerable and opportunities for the Sport, Physical Activity and Leisure sector to support residents of Essex.

Bike Week Webinars – a three-part webinar series, taking place during Bike week 2024 (11-13th June 2024).

Bike Week aims to show how enjoyable and life-changing making the switch to cycling can really be. Not only will you see fantastic improvements to your health, but you’ll be also helping to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint and keeping your communities air cleaner. The Essex webinar series will focus on; Workplaces, Infrastructure & Planning, and funding opportunities; to share best practices and ideas from local organisations, for employers, employees, communities, and clubs to encourage and inspire cycling participation.

Bike Week 2024 – Workplaces. Tuesday 11th June 11:30am – 12:15pm

Our workplaces webinar aimed at local employees and employers, will focus on opportunities to support your business exploring sustainable travel. Mike Polom, from Colchester City Council will be discussing the work Colchester City Council have been doing in collaboration with local businesses and travel plans, and Essex County Council Sustainable Travel Team will be speaking about the Modeshift STARS scheme, as well as the Smarter Travel for Essex Network (STEN).

Bike Week 2024 – Funding. Thursday 13th June 11:30am – 12:15pm

Our funding webinar, aimed at community groups & clubs, employees and employers, will highlight some of the funding opportunities available in Essex to support cycling projects. Ian Small, from Cycling UK, will be discussing Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival Grant and Active Essex will be discussing the Essex Cycle Grant, and some of the previous projects which have been funded.
