The awards, which are being sponsored by Braintree Village and KI Sound and Light, are an opportunity to recognise the efforts of those who give their time to help our communities to be better, healthier places to live, work and play.

Nominations are welcome across all sectors including arts, sports, community and culture across ten award categories including Long Service, Outstanding New Volunteer, Sports Personality and Sports Coach of the Year.

The winners from the volunteering categories will go forward for the Volunteer of the Year award and specific categories in the sports and physical activities automatically going through to the Active Essex Sports Awards
