Maddison Verillo has been selected as our #MoveWithUs ‘Move Maker’ for March, a well-deserved recognition of her dedication to encouraging physical activity and creating a positive school environment. As Head of School, Maddison has taken the initiative to provide meaningful opportunities for her peers, particularly through the introduction of a sport society for enrichment during Wednesday’s lesson 5.
The idea of student-led societies was initially proposed by the head of sixth form, and Maddison embraced the opportunity to build a space where students could engage in sports. Recognising the importance of physical activity, she carefully organised resources—securing available equipment and facilities, enlisting the support of a teacher, and drafting a society agreement to ensure a structured and inclusive environment. She actively promoted the initiative among her fellow sixth-form students, encouraging participation and enthusiasm.
The sport society aims to inspire engagement in physical activity, promote health and wellbeing, enhance athletic skills, and provide a refreshing break from academic studies. Maddison’s efforts reflect her commitment to making the school a better place for both students and staff. Her passion for student involvement and wellbeing makes her a truly deserving #MoveWithUs ‘Move Maker’ for March. Congratulations, Maddison!
