Celebrating two of our #MoveWithUs Ambassadors who inspired others in 2024

Active Essex

In 2024, two of our #MoveWithUs ambassadors not only achieved personal milestones, but also dedicated themselves to inspiring others to get active. As we continue to reflect on last year’s #MoveWithUs campaign, their journeys truly highlight the power of dedication, passion, and the unwavering support of those around them.

Harry Jeffery’s outstanding achievements in obstacle course racing (OCR) has set new benchmarks, while Thomas Cauchi’s dedication to coaching young tennis players in Essex has sparked a renewed love for the sport. Their commitment and passion in their roles as Active Essex ambassadors highlight the impact that enthusiastic individuals can have on their communities.

2024 was an extraordinary year for Harry Jeffery, a dedicated #MoveWithUs ambassador whose achievements broke records and earned him an impressive collection of medals. Competing in 12 Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) events throughout the year, Harry’s performances were nothing short of spectacular, clinching gold in all but one of the events that he took part in, earning himself 11 gold medals, and proudly representing Great Britain on the international stage.

Beyond his impressive athletic achievements, Harry’s role as a #MoveWithUs ambassador has been a source of inspiration for many. His commitment to encouraging others to stay active and healthy through his YouTube channel and social media pages is evident through his various adventures, including his feature in Channel 4’s documentary, “Swiped: The School that Banned Smartphones”. The 21-day digital detox challenge, highlighted Harry’s dedication to promoting a balanced lifestyle.

Harry’s role as an Active Essex ambassador remains one of his proudest achievements. His passion for encouraging young people to stay active, embrace challenges, and lead healthy lifestyles shines through in every medal, record, and podium finish. Harry’s story is more than just winning races; it’s also about inspiring young athletes to dream big, face challenges head-on, and achieve their own successes no matter how small.

In 2024, Thomas Cauchi dedicated himself to the development and improvement of young tennis players. His work focused not only on enhancing technical skills, but also teaching the importance of skills like discipline and teamwork among those he coached. By introducing tailored drills and a different approach to training, Thomas has witnessed remarkable improvements in the abilities and confidence of the young players he coaches.

Thomas’s coaching philosophy goes beyond just tennis skills; it also promotes sportsmanship, communication, and collaboration. Through structured training sessions, he has helped young athletes build a strong foundation for continued growth in the sport. Whether it’s developing their footwork, working on their serve technique, or training their mental resilience, Thomas’s impact on his players is clear.

In addition, Thomas’s commitment to nurturing a love for tennis and helping young athletes reach their full potential is evident in the increased performance of his players in local tournaments and matches. His efforts have also sparked greater enthusiasm and increased positive attitudes for tennis, with many young athletes taking more initiative in their own development.

Moving forward, Thomas is dedicated to continuing providing young people with the tools they need to excel both on and off the court. His journey as a coach is a testament to the positive impact that dedicated mentorship and a more tailored approach can have on young athletes.

Both ambassadors have embraced the spirit of the #MoveWithUs campaign and its ambassador programme, demonstrating that with passion, dedication and the right support, incredible achievements are always within reach.
