Active for Life is a physical activity programme for people affected by cancer. The group is run by a healthy lifestyle coordinator who has undertaken specific cancer exercise training.
Physical activity is important for cancer patients at all stages of their cancer pathways. Each attendees have an assessment so that exercises can be tailored to each person’s individual needs. The exercise group runs for twelve weeks and individuals can participate in strengthening and cardiovascular exercises.
Keeping active throughout the cancer journey can help physical and emotional wellbeing. Participating in physical activity whilst living with or recovering from cancer, reduces tiredness, relieves pain and improves joint flexibility, improves mood and quality of life. Active for Life is a supporting group where individuals are encouraged to enjoy their time throughout the sessions.

- Riverside leisure centre, Victoria Road, CM1 1FG
At the moment there is no cost for the classes. We can offer these classes to all stages of Cancer whether it be before treatment or after even if it was historic and still in remission pre/rehabilitation. There is a virtual alternative if patients need an alternative route. All classes are led by fully qualified level 4 cancer exercise rehabilitation exercise instructors.
