Active Essex believes that all people have the right to take part in sport and related physical activities free from harm and abuse. Active Essex recognises that children and adults at risk are at increased risk of harm and that their protection is of paramount importance.
Standards for Safeguarding
Active Essex encompasses and promote high standards in safeguarding and welfare across all our work. We have a committed Safeguarding Team compromising of; Designated Safeguarding Officer, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer, 2 x Sport Welfare Leads and 5 x Officers. The team hold roles across the Active Essex portfolio ensuring Safeguarding is at the heart of decision making across the business.
Our People, Culture,Skills Framework sets out our mission to build Inclusive, people-centred, resilient and ambitious organisations who promote positive learning cultures, offering the workforce and participants a quality experience, free from harm. This action plan supports this framework, holding firm our responsibility with the influence we have across the sector.
We are accountable to Sport England and Essex County Council and are reviewed annually by;
