Sharing our Learning-Low income Families

On Thursday 25th June Active Essex and LDP hosted Essex-wide Share and Learn event  focusing on working families with children. The event The demand of this event has been so big we’ve had to upgrade our Zoom account to accommodate over 100 delegates which is a first time ever!

We heard about many of the issues that low-income families are currently facing across Essex, and the challenges we are all facing in providing the best support for those families. A key piece of feedback we received was your energy to collaborate more to join up our work in supporting families.

To build on this energy, we did a follow up with an exploratory meeting for those people who want to share their ideas and co-produce some new collaborative approaches. The meeting took place on Thursday 16^th July and is open to everyone who attended the event yesterday. From the follow up event it was clear from partners we all need to take our time in listening and talking to communities, ensuring we fully understand their needs, how best to support going forward and what resource and capacity might be required.  We very much see the Working Families agenda as ongoing discussions and would like to regroup sometime in September to look at how phase 2 of supporting working families develops.
