The Active Essex Local Delivery Pilot are helping to deliver many aspects, initiatives and projects across our 3 pilot areas, which are being scaled and replicated across the county. Using our learnings from 'Asset Based Community Development', we are working with local communities to deliver initiatives such as Essex Pedal Power, a number of gamification projects and creating valuable system change through the work of the 'Prevention and Enablement Model'.

Asset Based Community Development

The Active Essex Local Delivery Pilot is working in partnership with Nurture Development, to deliver a comprehensive ABCD programme. Utilising our learnings, we are driving key initiatives and projects in our local communities.

Essex Pedal Power

Essex Pedal Power is an exciting community-based project being piloted in Clacton and Jaywick Sands, allowing eligible residents to apply for a new FREE quality bike.

Microgrants

This funding is open access for local people in Basildon, Colchester and Tendring who have a great idea to get their local community more active.

Reconnect

A county-wide service that uses the power of physical activity to improve the lives of people living with disabilities and/or long-term health conditions in Essex, with Sport for Confidence as the lead provider.

Essex ActivAte

Essex ActivAte is delivering a school holiday activity and food programme for families across the county, who need a bit of extra support.

Gamification

Gamification has been used for years to engage new audiences and change behaviour, but only recently has playing a digital game been used to dramatically increase physical activity levels and at the same time improve health and wellbeing.
