Congratulations to Angela Hall, our Essex Activity Hero from Rochford. Read and be inspired by their story below:
Angela Hall went to great lengths during the first lockdown back in March, by bringing her neighbours together at a time when we were unable to resume our normal daily lives.
For 10 weeks, during the peak of the pandemic, Angie organised and encouraged her neighbours to join her keep-fit sessions out in the street. Saturday mornings saw around 20 neighbours exercising and laughing for half an hour at the end of their driveways in the sunshine, which kept people active and also lifted spirits. The sessions were followed by socially distanced chats, which brought the community together and formed friendships. Angie also took it upon herself to organise fun bingo and quiz evenings outside, and also a street party for VE Day, which was enjoyed by all.
Throughout this difficult period, it was Angie who went that extra mile to ensure that her neighbours came together and encouraged the wellbeing and camaraderie of the street. On behalf of all Angie’s neighbours, they would like to say, “thank you for helping us through lockdown Angie, it was appreciated by all and you are a true hero!”
Congratulations to Angie, for being awarded as an Essex Activity Hero!
