Latest Challenge – At Home Superheroes

15 June – 14 July 2024

The race is on, Superheroes, & it doesn’t get any bigger than this! Players will be remotely joining forces with hundreds of fellow Superheroes & Sidekicks in one of four SUPER TEAMS to virtually power around the world! As it’s a Paralympic year, the challenge will mark this extra super summer of sport, by taking in some of the world’s great former host cities on our global tour, before finishing in this year’s beautiful host city of Paris!

End of Challenge Reflections

From Essex All Together ambassador & Superhero Suzanne Warren:

“The Superheroes challenge has been just that! At times it has been hard to keep going but it’s also been a lot of fun and I have taken part in a variety of activities to show how diverse you can be and still get in movement and exercise within your day.

I have enjoyed sharing the challenge with groups that I belong to and work with to engage them in the event, help educate them on the benefits of exercise and also to help keep me motivated.

Highlights for me have been joining my fellow ambassadors Donna and Billy on their journey’s, supporting the residents of Ridgewell House Care Home with their arts and crafts sessions, coaching gymnastics to young superheroes, getting out for walks/rolls in my local areas, visiting Colchester Zoo, participating in Mobilates sessions and enjoying time in the Forest with a local primary school.

Living with EDS, Addison’s Disease, A Neurological Movement Disorder, Psychosis and the resulting Chronic Pain and Fatigue can be a battle. Movement can help with the management of this and the challenge has helped with this, but also shown me that rest, meditation and togetherness sessions are just as important as being physically active.”
