About the Fund
The fund is provided by Active Essex and Essex County Council, and supported by Southend-on-Sea Council and Thurrock Council, to respond to the immediate challenges of engaging people who have become less physically active due to the pandemic. The money can be used to start up new activities, increasing the numbers attending existing activities or support you in some specific training.
We can fund ambassadors up to a maximum of £500 using their enthusiasm to motivate less active people. All activities will need to be completed by March 31st, 2022 or earlier.
Every individual receiving an award will need to use the Find Your Active branding, collect information about the participants using the Active Essex Impact Tool, send in a short report at the end of the funding in your own style. We welcome at any time inspirational stories about people who are benefitting from the fund.

After you’ve applied:
We will acknowledge receipt of your application, and let you have a decision as soon as possible. Usually this will take up to two weeks. If we need some more information we will contact you.
If you are successful, you’ll receive a simple award agreement clarifying the purpose of the award, the amount, and the conditions of the award. Once the agreement has been signed, you will receive your award within 14 – 28 days.
