Active Essex is the Sport and Physical Activity Partnership for Greater Essex and are a publicly funded organisation. Our aim is to make sport and physical activity accessible to all residents, by working with local partners to create opportunities and ensure Greater Essex residents develop positive attitudes to health and wellbeing.

Active Essex is one of 43 Active Partnerships in England who work collaboratively with local partners to ensure the power of sport and physical activity can transform lives. They do this by understanding the needs of local communities, brokering partnerships and relationships, support the development of inclusive workforce and share learning of what works locally.

Active Essex have an office based at County Hall, Chelmsford but have a team that work across the whole of Greater Essex.
