The first topic will be ‘Badminton skills and knowledge workshop for secondary PE teachers’
Active Essex will be running a practical workshop in Badminton delivery aimed at secondary PE teachers to enhance their sport specific skills and knowledge to enable them to deliver high quality curriculum and extra-curricular Badminton.
The 2 hour practical workshop will explore the technical aspects of Badminton, supporting staff with demonstration skills and the key teaching points across the basic strokes. Teachers will feel more confident in introducing the main strokes of Badminton to students across Key Stage 3 and 4.
Tactical aspects of the sport will also be covered and the use of adapted and conditioned games to support students in demonstrating the use of these technical skills in game situations.
Finally , there will be ideas on how to engage and manage large numbers in Badminton lessons whilst remaining on task and delivering fun and engaging activities.
