The Essex Special School Games were launched in 2015 and are organised and run in partnership with the Multi Schools Council (a group of pupils from both primary and secondary special and mainstream schools). The event is run parallel to the Essex Summer Games, offering the opportunity for young people within Special Education across the County the chance to participate and compete in a multi-sport event.

The games have been a huge success and become a highlight of the School Games Calendar.
