Active Essex have produced resources to support teachers and local organisations to deliver a challenging and engaging Sports Leaders course aimed at Year 8 and 9 students across Essex.

Inline with United by 20222, the course will build confidence in key life skills such as: communication, organisation, working as a team and presentational skills. Providing Year 8 and 9 students across Essex with the opportunity to experience a strong sense of achievement through the delivery of a Legacy Festival, reflecting the excitement around this years Commonwealth Games.

Young People will gain increased awareness and knowledge of the Commonwealth Games and the inspirational legacy which can positively impact on physical activity levels across Essex.

The Active Essex Legacy Leaders will become a key part of the wider workforce across Essex to influence more and different young people to be active and enjoy sport.
