New research has shown that there is currently 21,400 people working within the Sports and Leisure sector and the opportunity to upskill 11,000 people in sport specific roles to improve employment opportunities and careers.
Active Essex, the active partnership for Greater Essex, and Creative Sport & Leisure Ltd, specialists in apprenticeships and work-based learning, have unveiled a new Sport Skills Strategy and Action Plan based on new research that identifies the need to develop a highly skilled, dynamic and diverse workforce in the sport and leisure sector.
The Sports Skills Strategy and Action Plan aims to:
- Develop the right workforce to increase participation in sport and physical activity
- Grow the business base to support employment and self-employment
