Find Your Active Harlow is virtual network of organisations aiming to increase levels of physical activity in Harlow.
Find Your Active Harlow aims to contribute towards addressing the health inequalities of Harlow residents.
It does this by:
- Bringing key partners together and aiming for a coordinated strategic approach to service delivery and influencing. It aims to ensure that the needs of the community are understood and that more people are involved in designing, commissioning, delivering and promoting interventions.
- Tackling physical inactivity and promoting healthy lifestyle choices to reduce preventative illnesses and diseases associated with inactivity.
- Widening access to open spaces, sports facilities and interventions
- Providing support to the sport, physical activity and movement sector
Find Your Active Harlow operates as a virtual network with national and local updates being shared by email and social media with opportunities for workshops and networking being promoted when relevant.
Place Partnership Expansion
Sport England is expanding its Place Partnerships programme, which will see £190 million of National Lottery and Exchequer funding invested in up to 80-100 new places across England over the next 5 years. Targeted local investment and resources will help to increase activity levels, decrease inactivity and breakdown the barriers and inequalities that prevent people from playing sport or being active.
Harlow has been identified because of the significant health inequalities and low levels of physical activity. Sport England have initially awarded £265,240 until March 2025 to support with establishing capacity and the right conditions as well as testing early ideas and interventions to help get residents active in the most deprived areas of Harlow.
